Urinary Incontinence Device

Urinary Incontinence Device

Medical Device that monitors a patient’s urine flow path outside of the bladder in order to help diagnose and treat sphincter inefficiencies.

The Challenge

In need of a custom force sensor to monitor pressure during occlusion of a urethral duct to monitor the pressure exerted

The SMD Solution

Strain Measurement Devices designed a custom force sensor to measure axial forces in the instrument. The sensor consists of a central threaded boss and the outside diameter is fixed. The bidirectional forces on the central boss is measured by the sensor.

Engineered as a load cells & force solution for the medical & healthcare market.
