The Challenge
In need of a custom force sensor that is able to be removed and replaced quickly with a temperature sensor. The force sensor needs to measure the deflection of the diaphragm when pressure is applied. Industry has a very stringent sanitary policy, for all wetted surfaces.
The SMD Solution
Strain Measurement Devices designed a force sensor to be welded to the opposite side of a flush mounted assembly with a chamfered flange. Clamped against a mating part in the customer’s device, the sensor assembly has the ability to be changed rapidly, whenever necessary. All food industry sanitary policy standards met.
